Caring Your Mangoes
Unbox as soon as they arrive
Open the lid as soon as they arrive. Let them breathe!
Store them right
Leave them nestled in the paddy hay — but check daily for signs of fouling or over-ripening. Avoid heat buildup. Mangoes can soften and over-ripe from trapped heat.
Look for ripeness
Ripe Alphonsos smell divine, soften gently, and glow yellow till the chin.
Eat them at their best
They’re perfect between the 8th to 14th day after harvest. Early ripened ones may taste sour near the seed. As they ripen, the pulp deepens in colour and sweetness.
Wash before eating
Use a soft fruit-wash before consumption.
Refrigerate only if needed
Cooling slows ripening and affects taste.
